@Steven is correct, you’ll need to find another version supported on CentOS5/amd64, and attempt to install that, or set up a new CentOS 6 server to install an updated default version, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that on cPanel, IIRC it’s unsupported.

Also, you can use Main >> Software >> Module Installers in Webhost Manager, to install any PHP module provided by PEAR/PECL that you need.
